With its red signature detail in the middle, this Bankers wall thermometer is a beautiful example of Danish design and its many qualities. It’s design is inspired by the Bankers clock which was designed in 1971 by the famous Danish architect Arne Jacobsen, who was one of the world’s leading modernists. It was originally created for Denmark’s National Bank building as part of a project for which Jacobsen was total architect.

The Bankers series from Arne Jacobsen showcases classic design with a twist of small, creative details, and with its floating look, this wall thermometer hangs almost like a sculpture in the home. The timeless design has been devised with a number of imaginative details that make the clock stand out from the crowd and be noticed. Among them is the continuous spiral, which elegantly illustrates the temperature throughout the day.

Teit Weylandt, who was head of product development at Arne Jacobsen’s design studio for many years, has been closely involved in ensuring that the wall thermometer would be recreated in keeping with Arne Jacobsen’s spirit and the original drawings. Now, everyone can enjoy the master architect’s minimalist design in their own home. The Bankers wall thermometer measures 4.7″ in diameter.
